ABOUT

Hi, I’m Nadine Khalaf Aldridge, and I am passionate about food.  I have traveled to many places around the world and tasted many different cuisines.  Yet, I seem to always return to my roots, good Mediterranean and Lebanese food.  It all began many years ago, when I was a very young girl in Lebanon.  Growing up in a Lebanese household, food was the center of all events and non-events alike.  It made life enjoyable and more memorable, mostly during the hard times.  I do not remember ever seeing any shortage of a daily feast of colorful and healthy Mediterranean cuisine at my mother’s table.  Then, my parents brought us to the US, where life was easier and more comfortable.  Food continued to be the center of all our gatherings, especially, when I would visit my parents from college.  After graduate school, I decided to explore my dormant cooking skills that were taught to me by my mother. I read all I could about anything food related, and watched many chefs and cooks create their masterpieces in an attempt to expand my knowledge.  Then, I married a wonderful Scottish American man, Kevin, who has allowed me to test all my “creations” on him.  He and my daughter, Amanda, are my taste testers.  We love to host our family and friends for weekend brunches and dinners.  For what is more enjoyable than to share delicious food with the people closest to you?  To me, cooking is all about freeing my senses and creating beautiful, edible art on a plate.  This blog is a way for me to share with you my happiness, as I am but a cook who loves to feed the people she adores … nothing more.  Thank you for stopping by Foodienada!

Thanks for dinner last night… the food was fabulous.

You should market “Having dinner with Nada” I would pay a few hundred bucks to do that again.
